Dear North Saanich Middle School Parents,

Peninsula Streams Society is visiting your school this Thursday 14th and Friday 15th to engage all of the Gr. 6 and 7 students in a fun, full day of environmental restoration activities~! Students will be working in groups at two locations:  1) on the west side of the school grounds and 2) Lillian Hoffar Park (2 minutes walk from the school, on McDonald Park Road). Activities at these sites will include mostly invasive plant species removal, including Himalayan blackberry, holly, English ivy, etc. Here's a short video of the program from a couple years ago, at Colquitz School

We are bringing our team of volunteers to help teach and supervise the students during the outdoor activities. The Gr. 6-7 teachers will also be present during these activities. If you are free, we would love to have some parents as well to help with the outdoor activities.

If you're only able to come for the morning or afternoon sessions, that is totally fine.

If you would like to help, please meet PSS staff and volunteers at:
Morning session - Meet at 9:05am at cul-de-sac at end of John Road. Morning session ends at 11:52am.
Afternoon session - Meet at 12:30pm at playground basketball court (for school site) or at Lillian Hoffar Park (in Park, not at entrance). Afternoon session ends at 3pm.

If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact me by email or phone~!

Thank you,

Francesca
Stewardship Coordinator
