Dear Parents and Guardians:

Re: Heat Warning

Mr. Dave Eberwein, the Superintendent of Schools, has sent out an email already notifying parents of the district plans for tomorrow and the Heat Warning.  We realize that many parents will choose to keep their children home, but if not we have a small plan.

One of the local fire departments has agreed to come and spray the students down with their hoses at 11:00 AM.  This means that if parents want their children to participate, they should send a towel and a change of clothes.  We will have the field divided up with cones to stay in their cohorts while being sprayed.  Of course, if the Fire Department has to respond to a call, this will not occur.

After the Fire Department visit, some parents might want their children to go home for the afternoon.  If that is what you would like to happen, please send an email to your child’s teacher.  If your child is allowed to go with another family, please indicate that as well.

We will try to keep the remaining students as cool as possible.   We will be moving as many classes as possible to the bottom floor, which is cooler and encouraging students to stay hydrated.

Please feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns.  We believe we can make this a cohort-friendly and cool send-off to our students.

Sincerely,

_________
