Re: After School Safety
At dismissal time it gets very busy around North Saanich. We are trying to make sure that students are picked up safely by maintaining some control of the traffic and students flow. We need to make sure that everyone is getting home safely. Here are a few things we want parents and students to know so that can happen:
The stop sign from John Road to the first driveway in the NSMS parking lot is a No Parking Zone.
Buses arrive at NSMS between 3:15 and 3:20 PM. We need parents picking up students to be out of the bus lane before the first bus arrives. Please keep an eye out for the first bus.
The Highway Christian Fellowship Church allows NSMS to use its parking lot for pickups. It is a safe and easily accessible area to pick up your child.
We regularly advise our students to use the school crosswalk, because we have a crossing guard there rather than the flashing light by the Co-op. If they use the crosswalk at the Co-op please remind your child to make eye contact with drivers before stepping out onto the road.
