Re:  Meet the Teacher Night – Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians

The Meet the Teacher Night at North Saanich is this Wednesday.  We have short 10-minute time slots scheduled for parents to come into the school and meet their advisory/core teacher.  Parents and teachers have both requested that these be individual conversation times so that our first contact with each other is private, positive and opens the lines of communication for the rest of the year.  You know your children better than anyone and this meeting allows you to tell us more about your child and their learning so that we can better support them at school.

We realize that not all parents can make it this week, but we would still like to meet you.  Below are some suggestions if you can not make it in to meet with your teacher this week:

1.  Stop in before or after school and introduce yourself to all your child's teachers.  This will allow us to put a face with your name and open up the lines of communication.  This can be very quick and short, but very effective.

2.  Send us an email introducing yourself.  In our busy lives, this is often the easiest and most effective way to stay connected with us and your child's progress.

Our advisory teachers will share the information they gather at your meeting with your child’s other core teacher.   We would also like to encourage you to introduce yourself or email the other teachers. They are also interested in making a connection with you.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to connect with your child's teacher.   We look forward to meeting and working with you at North Saanich.

Sincerely,

Kal Russell
