Pedestrian and Bike Safety Message

Periodically at school assemblies, we remind our students about pedestrian and bike safety.  We are especially concerned about those student that walk or ride along McDonald Park Road before or after school.  The area in front of the Co-op is very busy and even though it has a flashing light we would encourage students to walk to the school crosswalk at McDonald Park Road and Resthaven.  The district has a crossing guard in front of the school before and after school for student safety. We also want to remind bikers to stay in the bike lane on the right hand side of the road and then walk their bikes across the street at the school crosswalk.   We also ask students to make eye contact with drivers when they are crossing the road at any crosswalk or intersection, to stay off their devices and to use the flashing light if crossing at the Co-op.  Thank you for helping keep our children safe.
