The Mountain Bike Club is returning to NSMS this year.

This club is open to any of our students – grades 6, 7 or 8.   Our objective is to provide a safe mountain biking experience for riders who have a variety of riding abilities. Parent riders are always welcome along! (In fact we require a couple each ride for safety purposes).  We ride on one afternoon each week from 4:30 until 6:00 at Hartland (Mt. Work Park), proposed ride dates or listed below.

Mountain biking describes a variety of cycling experiences, including smooth trails of moderate grade, rough, loose trails, steep technical areas, ‘roll downs’ (very steep embankments that the bike rolls down), drops, jumps, and so forth.  Our first priority is always safety.  Routes are chosen by the adult leaders (often with youth input) to correspond to our youths’ experience levels.  Our focus is on having fun while participating in a sport.

Permission forms are available at the school office from Mr. Caley.  It would be nice to have permissiong forms back before Spring Break as the first ride is the day after we return.

Proposed ride dates are:
Wednesday, April 4
Monday, April 9
Wednesday, April 18
Monday, April 23
Monday, April 30
Wednesday, May 16
Wednesday, May 23
There is the possibility of a wrap-up ride with the Royal Oak School Club at the end of May.
