Dear Parents and Guardians:
We will be conducting a Lockdown Drill at North Saanich on Oct. 25, 2016 at 10:30 AM. We feel it is important that we let our parents know in advance about this drill. The objective of the drill is to review with our staff and students our procedures for a school Lockdown so that everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities if this situation ever arises. We are not trying to scare or surprise our students. Our local RCMP will be running/facilitating the drill.
After the drill we will debrief with our students. Please take a few minutes to talk to your child about the drill. Children should know that it is very unlikely that they will ever be involved in a real Lockdown, but it is important that in those extreme cases that staff, students and our local RCMP all know what to do.
