RE: Grade 8 Farewell Evening
Dear Parents/Guardians:
This years Grade 8 Farewell evening will be taking place at Greenglade Community Centre on Tuesday, June 24, from 6:30 – 9:00 PM. Panorama Recreation Centre has kindly rescheduled their programming to allow our grade 8's to use their facility.
We will have a short, informal ceremony at 6:30 PM to honour the grade 8 students. Parents are invited to join us for the presentations of certificates. Our teachers are invited as guests and I believe they will be attending for a short time. Since the gym is very small we will not have any seating available. Please be prepared to stand.
After the ceremony, the parents have organized a short reception with food and drinks. Parents are welcome to stay and mingle with students until the dance starts. At 7:00 PM the grade 8 dance and social will officially start. In addition to the dance, we have the Extreme Teen Lounge available for the students to socialize. We will also be distributing yearbooks to students that purchased them. We encourage all students to bring a pen to the evening, so that they can sign annuals. Parents are asked to drop off their appetizers between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM and then pick up their children at 9:00 PM.
Our Grade 8 Parents have done a wonderful job organizing an alternate celebration for our students and we hope that you are able to join us. This is a great group of students and it has been a privilege working with them for the last two years and I look forward to spending Tuesday Night at their Farewell.
