Week 2

  • Mrs Chambers is available Tues/Wed/Thurs this week at lunch in art room for students who want to work on any missing or incomplete assignments.

  • Grade 8 bandies:
Here is the schedule for tomorrow morning's practice:
    8:30-8:50- Flutes and clarinets
8:50-9:15- lower brass, WW and basses
    9:15-9:35- trumpets/saxes

  • The grade 8 boys basketball team beat Bayside 52-38 in their last game of the season.  Well done team!

  • From Mr. Bond:

The energy in Parkland's gym rivalled the "Thrilla in Manila" between Frazier and Ali.  The crowd was a buzz in anticipation of the mighty Hawks taking the court against Cathedral Prep and Colquitz.  The first game between the Hawks and Cathedral was a back and forth affair, with both teams going toe to toe until Cathedral Prep began to pull away, but the mighty Hawks were not to be out played.  They staged an epic fourth quarter comeback that sent the crowd into a frenzy.  Your 7/8 Boys Rec team was victorious with a gallant effort by everyone.

The second game pitted the Hawks against the mighty team from Colquitz. As these two basketball juggernauts took the court something had to give, but each team stood firm. The teams made the court look like a giant seesaw as the lead teetered back and forth with no one being able to take command of the game.  With time rapidly evaporating there was a blur of activity on the court that saw Colquitz take the lead with just over one minute to play, but again your Hawks dug deep and soared high as they scored the final basket to take the lead and win the game.

Congratulations to the 7/8 Grade Boys Rec team with a record of four wins and two losses.  Well done!

  • 1) Musicmakers: today's students running the booth are Sam and Olivia. Meet Mr. Koenig at the atrium after eating period.

    2) The musicmakers will have a booth in the atrium all this week during lunch for students to submit requests for songs they would like to have played at the Christmas Dance. Stop by to let us know what you want to hear!
