Winter Band Concert
Date: Thursday, December 12 at 7 p.m.
Band members should be at school by 6:30 p.m.
Once they have their instrument from the band room, they should go to the following location to warm up:
- Grade 6: stay in the Band Room
- Grade 7: Mr. Chambers' room 101
- Grade 8: Mrs. Paquette's room 103
All Band members should wear a white shirt and black bottoms (skirt or trousers). Grade 7's & 8's should also be wearing their blue vest. Please confirm with your child tha they have a blue vest - if not they need to see Mme. Robillard BEFORE the night of the concert. Students are encouraged to wear a festive hat or scarf and to decorate their instrument. Please only use painters tape on instruments - other tapes will cause damage. Use tape sparingly.
Being Performance Ready: Hopefully your child has been practising at least a couple of times a week. It is like doing homework, and it is the only way that he/she will imporve and keep pace with everyone. Please insist that the instrument comes home and that you are hearing them play. Eveyone will enjoy the experience of the concert more if the musicians are performance ready.
Paparazzi: If you are planning to videotape or photograph the concert and you are happy with the results, please consider sharing them with Mme. Robillard, especially photos.
Bake Sale & Raffle Baskets: A bake sale takes place at intermission. We need more items to make this a success - baked items (please let Mme. Robillard know if you are baking) and items for the Raffle Baskets (please send them to Mme. Robillard). Raffle baskets will be available for viewing before the concert and during the intermission.
Concert Voluneers: Help is needed for supervising students and making sure they get to the gym for their performance. We also need help organizing and running the bake sale & raffle. Please let Mme. Robillard know how you can help.
Dancers: Dancers need to meet Mrs. Chambers on the stage at 6:30 (unless they are performing in the band - then they are to go to the room assigned by Mrs. Robillard).
