Dear NSMS Parents and Guardians:

We hope that your children are excited to be returning to school.  We are expecting 2013-14 to be a great school year at NSMS.  First day of school is Tuesday, Sept. 3.   Due to an increase in enrolment from our June projections we will not be able to place students in new classes until Thursday morning.  The first two days of school will be filled with welcoming and community building activities.

Grade 6 students will meet at the Hawksnest playground at 8:50 AM.  At 9:00 AM we have an assembly in the gym and assign them to a temporary classroom for two days.  These will not be their teachers or classes for the year.

Grade 7 and 8 students will meet at the Hawksnest at 9:15 AM.  We will then have a short assembly in the gym before sending them back to their last years homeroom class.  They will stay in these rooms for Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Thursday, Sept. 5 we will assign students to their new classes.

Important Notes:
Tuesday Sept. 3 is a shortened day.  Students will be dismissed at 10:30 AM.  Buses will be picking up students at 10:45 to 11:00 AM.

Wednesday – Students should come with lunches and a pencil or pen.

Thursday – Students will be assigned their advisory's for the year. This will be a homeroom based day.

Friday – The first day of full classes including PE and FAAS.

Enjoy your long weekend and we look forward to seeing your children on Tuesday.
