DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

THURSDAY, APRIL 4th, 2019

 

Let's Talk Science:

There will be a short meeting today at recess for all students who are participating in the Let's Talk Science Challenge.  Please meet Mrs. Jones in room 209 - and bring your team!

 

Mountain Bike Club:

Tomorrow (Friday) is our first ride.  It promises to be a day full of liquid sunshine!  So, please come prepared to get a little wet & muddy!  It's important to go online and register for tomorrow's ride if you plan to attend - the link is on the front page of the school website.  

 

Showcase Performers:

There will be a performers’ meeting tomorrow, Friday, at recess in Mrs. Marshall’s room to discuss the next couple weeks before Showcase. If you are performing at Showcase, please ensure that you are in attendance!

 

Gauss Girls:

No meeting today. Meetings will begin again next week, Thursday, April 11th.

 

Grade 6 & 7 Boys Rugby:

Boys grade 6 and 7 Rugby team practice tomorrow 3:15 to 4:15.  Next week practices will be Monday and Wednesday. Thursday we go to Claremont for Scrum Fest.

 

Girls Rugby:

Reminder to all girls rugby players to return your permission forms ASAP. Our practices have now changed to Tuesdays at 8am. See you Tuesday on the field with your mouthguards!

 

Fast & Female Event:

Glenlyon Norfolk School is pleased to host a Fast and Female event Friday May 17 where female students will have the opportunity to engage in an inspirational Chat and Q&A with our Fast and Female Ambassadors, dance, get autographs, and more! Participants will enjoy high-quality face-to-face time with female athlete role models such as Elite, varsity and Olympians.

The goals of Champ Chats are:

  1. Socialize in a non-competitive environment.

  2. Be inspired by female role models.

  3. Experience and encourage varied physical literacy.

  4. Have fun! Celebrate girls and women in sport.

  5. Keep girls healthy, happy, and active in sports.
